William George Greig
William George Greig is the Managing Member of Datum 9 Analytics LLC. He serves as the firm’s chief investment strategist while also taking an active role in portfolio management and overseeing all research activities. George has over thirty-five years of industry experience as an analyst, portfolio manager, strategist and chief investment officer. He has been involved in developing quantitative research modeling tools since the 1980s and has been a continuous innovator in the field of investment management. George spent the largest part of his career at William Blair & Co., where he developed and led the firm’s international and global investment management effort. During his tenure at William Blair & Co. from 1996 through 2013, international and global assets grew from $90 million to over $30 billion, and the investment team was built out from three people to over thirty. During the course of his career, George has been featured in numerous national publications, including The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s. He has also been a panelist on SmartMoney’s Annual Investor Roundtable and a frequent guest on CNBC. George has been a Morningstar International Manager of the Year finalist and was named a Barron’s Top 100 fund manager seven times. George earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Melissa McGrane is co-founder of and portfolio manager at Datum 9 Analytics, an SEC-registered investment advisor focused on global equity portfolio management. She has nearly two decades of industry experience with expertise in quantitative research. Melissa spent 15 years at William Blair starting on the fixed income desk and moving to fundamental equity research before joining the international equities team as a quantitative strategist in 2007. In addition to economic and strategy research, her focus encompassed traditional factor analysis, process design, and portfolio construction. Her tenure at William Blair also included five years managing a systematic equity portfolio. Prior experience includes trading and operations. She is a CFA Charterholder, Treasurer of the CFA Society Miami, and a member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance (CQA). Melissa graduated Magna Cum Laude from Coe College with a double major in Economics and Business Administration and earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Economics, Finance, and Econometrics and Statistics.
Michelle Petock serves as Datum 9 Analytics LLC’s Chief Operating Officer. Michelle has nearly two decades of legal and financial services industry experience in both the U.S. and the U.K.. At both Morgan Stanley and Citigroup, Michelle worked as a trader on the Global Structured Products and the Global Capital Structuring desks, where she developed, originated and executed cross-border arbitrage trades in the proprietary and principal-to-principal spaces. A tax lawyer by training, Michelle has also practiced law in the tax group at Shearman & Sterling LLP and in the international and cross-border transactions group at Holland & Knight LLP., where she focused on the taxation of financial products and cross-border structured finance. Michelle also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Datum 9 Capital LLC, a related firm. Datum 9 Capital is the seed investor for both Datum 9 Analytics strategies. Michelle earned a Bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD, summa cum laude, from the George Washington University Law School.
Elizabeth Bell serves as Datum 9 Analytics LLC’s Chief Compliance Officer. She is also an integral part of the firm’s operational team, carrying out a wide range of responsibilities. Elizabeth’s diverse career in business administration and operations spans multiple industries and three countries. Prior to joining Datum 9 Analytics LLC, Elizabeth worked on the International Investment Management Team at William Blair & Co., where she performed a broad range of non-investment functions. Elizabeth also gained experience in strategic planning and fundraising in the nonprofit space whilst serving as a volunteer and board member at the Midtown Educational Foundation in Chicago. Elizabeth earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and a Master of Arts fromUlster University.
Steve Englehardt is a Quantitative Analyst at Datum 9 Analytics LLC. Steve has over a decade of experience in quantitative analytics. Steve previously worked on the Emerging Markets team at Driehaus Capital Management LLC where he developed models and conducted research related to risk and portfolio construction. Steve began his career as a consultant and product developer at FactSet Research Systems Inc. before joining William Blair & Co. as an analyst focused on quantitative modeling and testing, supporting international equity strategies. Steve is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Society Miami. Steve earned a Bachelor’s degree from Boston College and a Master of Science from the University of Chicago.
Brigette Lumpkins is Head of Business Development at Datum 9 Analytics LLC. Brigette is responsible for growing assets under management and investor relations. Brigette has twenty years of experience in business development and relationship management. At Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital, she marketed European equity research, transactions, and corporate access to buy side portfolio managers. Brigette raised capital for Hamilton Lane before joining Goldman Sachs where she managed investment portfolios for private clients. Brigette serves on the steering committee for the Miami chapter of the CAIA Association. Brigette earned a Bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Spelman College, a Master of Arts from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
